We are very pleased to report that Bigger Than Breakfast was an unqualified success! Navos’ first-ever friend-raising/fund-raising event exceeded expectations, both in terms of the attendance and the amount raised at the event.

Our primary goal for the event was to seat approximately 120 attendees, with whom we would share the message of hope inherent in the recovery and resiliency model of mental healthcare. In fact, over 130 people attended the morning program, viewing presentations by our CEO, David Johnson, and Board of Directors President, Betsy Jones, as well as a powerful video featuring a client who shared her emotional story openly and with poise.

Following the video, participants were asked to consider making a financial gift to Navos. The display of generosity that followed was proof positive our message resonates with people: 78% of Bigger Than Breakfast attendees made a gift that morning, totaling nearly $15,000; and 90% of those were first-time donors!

While the numbers alone don’t give a complete picture of the event’s success, they are a very good indicator and give us much to build on for next year!
